The short version

Jamotion has no named user accounts or ads, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. We use limited crash, performance, and service diagnostics to keep the app reliable. If you consent on our website, we also use Mixpanel to measure visits and App Store link clicks. Your access to the app service is identified by anonymous device keys, not your name. To build your training plan, the app sends recent workout summaries, race details, profile information, and training preferences to our server, which uses Anthropic's Claude to generate the plan. Raw HealthKit samples and GPS routes are not sent to our server. We don't sell anything about you to anyone.

Who we are

Jamotion is operated by Jamotion LLC (United States). Contact: support@jamotion.app.

What we collect

Device identity. When the app first runs, it registers with our server using Apple's App Attest — a cryptographic key that helps prove the request came from a genuine Apple device running Jamotion. We store that key identifier and, for abuse prevention, an Apple DeviceCheck token. The registration request does not include your name, email, account credentials, device model, OS version, advertising identifier, or push token. New Relic separately creates a pseudonymous installation identifier for diagnostics, as described below.

Training and fitness data. When you request a training plan, the app sends our server:

  • Summaries of your workouts from the last 28 days: date, activity type, distance, duration, average pace, and elevation gain
  • Computed training aggregates: weekly mileage, mileage trends, longest run, cross-training minutes
  • Your athlete profile: age, gender, years of training, and — if you've provided them — resting heart rate, max heart rate, VO2 max, and threshold pace
  • Your races: name, date, distance, course details, priority, and any notes you wrote
  • Your training preferences, constraints, and any special instructions you typed

What never leaves your phone: raw HealthKit samples. Heart-rate streams and pace data are read only to draw charts on your screen. We collect no GPS or route data at all, and Jamotion never writes anything to Apple Health.

Subscription status. If you subscribe, Apple processes the payment and we store the subscription's Apple transaction identifier, product, status, and expiry so we know your device is entitled. We never see your name, payment method, or Apple ID.

Feedback (optional). If you send in-app feedback, we store your message, your app/OS version, device model, and locale, and — only if you choose to provide it — a contact email.

Diagnostics. TestFlight and App Store builds use New Relic to diagnose crashes, handled errors, slow requests, and other reliability problems. Its mobile software may collect:

  • Crash and error details, including stack traces and technical context
  • App session and performance measurements
  • Network request URLs with query strings and fragments removed, plus status codes, timing, sizes, and limited response content for failed requests
  • App version, device model, operating-system version, carrier, and coarse geographic information derived from your IP address
  • New Relic-generated installation and session identifiers

New Relic uses the IP address to derive geographic information and then discards the address. We do not set a name, email address, advertising identifier, App Attest key, or Support ID as a New Relic user attribute, and we do not intentionally attach your athlete profile, workouts, races, training plans, or raw HealthKit data to mobile diagnostic reports.

Our server also sends New Relic operational logs, metrics, and traces. These may include service performance, request routes and status, token counts, and error details. We configure application logs not to include training profiles, prompts, or generated plans.

Website analytics (optional). If you choose Accept in the privacy prompt on jamotion.app, we load Mixpanel and collect:

  • Page views, including the page title, path, full page address and query string
  • Referring page or domain and campaign parameters such as utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign
  • Clicks on Jamotion's App Store links and whether the link was in the header, hero, or closing section
  • Date and time, browser and version, operating system, device category, and screen dimensions
  • A randomly generated visitor identifier stored in your browser's local storage
  • Approximate city, region, and country derived from your IP address

We do not send Mixpanel your name, email address, Support ID, App Attest key, subscription information, athlete profile, workouts, races, training plans, or HealthKit data. We do not call Mixpanel's identity or user-profile APIs, and website analytics is not linked to your identity in the Jamotion app. Automatic interaction capture and session recording are disabled.

Before you accept, your browser does not load the Mixpanel library or contact Mixpanel's analytics service. The library itself is delivered by jsDelivr only after acceptance. You can later select Privacy choices in the website footer and reject analytics. Rejecting removes Jamotion's Mixpanel identifier and analytics properties from local storage and stops future collection; it does not automatically delete events previously sent to Mixpanel. The website stores your accept-or-reject choice in local storage so it can remember your decision.

How we use it

We use this information to generate and improve your training plans and to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and support the service. That includes entitlement checks, quota enforcement, abuse prevention, and reliability monitoring. With your consent, website analytics helps us understand traffic sources, public-page usage, and whether visitors select an App Store link. We do not sell your data, share it for advertising, or use it to build advertising profiles.

Who processes it

  • Anthropic (San Francisco, USA) — our AI provider. Your generation request — age, training aggregates, workout summaries, race details, and your written instructions — is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to produce your plan. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, API data is not used to train their models. Your gender and heart-rate metrics are not included in what we send to Anthropic.
  • Apple — App Attest/DeviceCheck verification and all subscription billing.
  • Heroku (Salesforce) — hosts our server and database in the United States.
  • New Relic — processes mobile and server diagnostics described above so we can monitor reliability and investigate errors.
  • Mixpanel — processes consented website analytics so we can measure page visits, traffic sources, and App Store link clicks.
  • jsDelivr — delivers the Mixpanel JavaScript library after you consent and receives the ordinary network information needed to serve that file, such as your IP address and browser user agent.

There are no ad networks or data brokers in the app or website. We do not use New Relic or Mixpanel for advertising or to track you across other companies' apps or websites. Mixpanel is used only for Jamotion's own website analytics and first-party campaign attribution.

What stays on your device

Your profile, races, accepted training plans, and settings live in a local database on your phone. Your device's identity key is stored in the iOS Keychain and survives reinstalls so your history reconnects.

Retention and deletion

We retain server records for as long as reasonably needed to provide, secure, troubleshoot, and support Jamotion, or to meet legal obligations. This includes generation records (the prompt we build and the response returned by the AI), accepted plans, device and usage records, subscription records, feedback, and operational records. We do not currently promise a fixed automatic deletion schedule.

Deleting the app removes Jamotion's local data from your phone. It does not cancel an Apple subscription or automatically delete records held by our server or service providers.

For a privacy or deletion request, email support@jamotion.app and include the Support ID shown in the app. Because Jamotion has no named account, the Support ID is how we locate records associated with your device. Some generation and technical records are not linked to that identifier and may not be identifiable from a request. We will delete data we can reasonably identify when required, except for records we must retain for legal, subscription, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.

New Relic's installation identifier is deleted from your phone when you delete the app. New Relic retains diagnostic data according to the retention settings for our New Relic account.

The website's consent decision and Mixpanel visitor identifier remain in your browser's local storage until you change your privacy choice, clear the site's stored data, or your browser removes it. Mixpanel analytics events are retained under our Mixpanel project's retention settings for as long as we reasonably need them to understand website usage, after which we delete them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over this data — including rights to know what we hold, get a copy, correct it, or request deletion. Email support@jamotion.app and include your Support ID for app-related requests. We may need to verify that a request relates to your device. Website visitors can reject future Mixpanel collection through Privacy choices in the footer. Because Mixpanel events are anonymous and are not linked to your Support ID or email address, we may not be able to identify historical website events as yours. We don't sell personal data or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is no sale or targeted-advertising use to opt out of.

Children

Jamotion is for adults. It isn't directed at children, the app doesn't accept an age under 18, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has used Jamotion and given us their data, email support@jamotion.app with the Support ID from the app. We will investigate and delete identifiable data when required.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll update it here and note it in the app. Continued use after a change means acceptance.
